Staycations in the city taking off
Nothing is more relaxing than spending a couple of days in a hotel environment, eating well, drinking well and enjoying freshly made beds and hotel breakfasts. And one does not need to get on an airplane to find the right holiday feeling. Staycations in the city are on an upward trend. And The Winery Hotel in Solna is one of the destinations where more and more locals are landing.
– We have guests coming on holiday all year round, but now that the sun is shining, even more people are coming to us for a few days to enjoy the rooftop pool, the food in the restaurants and, of course, the wine we make here, says Sarah Djerf, one of The Winery Hotel’s vineyard workers.
The Winery Hotel opened up its doors just over two years ago, and this year they putting a little extra into the summer. Every Friday, they have Winery Soul Sessions, giving the rooftop bar the feel of a rooftop in New York. Packages for families, lovers and friends make the hotel a gathering place for many.
– Our guests often feel the stay with us is an escape from everyday reality. They check in at a place where the wine is in focus, just as it is at a vineyard in Tuscany, and the urban design creates a sense of being in a place far from home.
Sarah says she often sees guests enjoying the sunset in the rooftop pool with a glass of wine in hand.
– Then I wonder if a staycation in town might be the perfect solution for people who do not have the time to travel far but want to maximize enjoyment.
