Meet in a wine setting

Close to Arlanda Airport, Stockholm City and Arenastaden the Winery Hotel has become a popular choice for conference guests wanting something outside of the box. Here the hotel running family Söder and the wine making family Ruhne has taken the idea of a traditional wine producer in a rural setting and moved it into the city. The result is an urban winery combined with a hotel and conference venue.

The Winery Hotel is the northernmost urban winery in Europe, a place where the visitor follows the just harvested grape through to finished wine. Wine infuses the whole hotel, something conference guests appreciates as a refreshing and coherent element.

“We want to share the knowledge and enthusiasm we have here. We also have the unique possibility to actually show how a wine is made” says Sofia Ruhne who with her family has made wine at the Terreno vineyard in Tuscany for 30 years.

She says that the surrounding at The Winery Hotel is creative and perfect for new ideas for that meeting.

“A lot of people choose to enhance the conference with for example wine tasting, a guided tour of the winery or an entertaining wine and food quiz.

We have a few meeting rooms of varying size. Winery Market, for example, is a big room of 210 square metres that can be separated with movable walls and used for a few smaller rooms. Wine Gallery, on the other hand, is a different meeting room designed as a gallery with art from the world of wine, perfect for meetings, dinners and wine sampling. There are six meeting rooms of varying size and an impressive event space with a ceiling height of seven metres. All depending on what type of event is desired.

“Anything from mini exhibitions and product launches to conferences, workshops and smaller meetings can be organised here”.

As well as wine activities there is opportunity to raise energy levels with yoga, exercise in the gym or a refreshing run in Hagaparken. Afterwards our guest can sit back and relax by the hotel’s roof top pool.

The rooms are designed with inspiration from redeveloped industrial warehouses in Brooklyn, New York. The walls are stripped brick and are combined with concrete ceiling and big floor to ceiling windows, together creating an industrial yet elegant feel. Along with walls painted grape green and cork floor in a golden brown the result is an urban, modern and cosy feel.

In the restaurant, Winery Kitchen, the flavours of the wines are the foundation for the food on the plate. The wine is selected before the food is made and thus the best flavour combinations are developed.

“Here the guests can enjoy harmony, balance and sometimes unexpected food and wine pairings. One of our great sommeliers are more than happy to talk about the relationship between the food on the plate and the wine in the glass”.
